Caller Story – May 25, 2024

Each week we will post a summary of interesting and representative 211 calls. This week, we have a connection from Manitoba.

211 can be used by anyone.

211 Service Navigators are happy to inform other workers in the human services field about resources and options available in the community of which they may not have been aware.

So many people work remotely or in the field and it can be a comfort to know that there is always someone there at 211 who can help to locate services and who can problem solve over the phone or by text.

A 211 Service Navigator received a call from an individual who said that they worked for an organization that supported individuals experiencing homelessness.

He was looking for information about Winnipeg’s Coordinated Access and was wondering how the program works.

The 211 Service Navigator explained in detail how the Naatamooskakowin – Coordinated Access Program worked as well as where the different access points were.

He was wondering if 211 would be able to help individuals if they were to call in requesting information about the access points.

The Service Navigator said that 211 was always pleased to be able to give out that information.

The caller thanked the Service Navigator and said he would be recommending 211 to his clients as well as coworkers for resources and information.
